Who I am

Dr. Ulrike Knobloch is a professor in the Department of Economics and Ethics at the University of Vechta. She studied economics at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and, after graduating with a degree in economics, spent a few semesters studying philosophy in order to gain a more in-depth understanding of the normative foundations of mainstream economics. For her doctoracte in economics and ethics, she moved to St. Gallen in Eastern Switzerland. There, she began to think about integrative economic ethics from a gender perspective. After further professional stations at home and abroad – including research stays at the New School for Social Research in New York NY, at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy NY and several years at the Bürgschaftsbank für Sozialwirtschaft in Cologne – she worked as a senior assistant with a focus on gender at the bilingual University of Fribourg in Western Switzerland until her move to Vechta.
